From a chassis safety and pedestrian collision standpoint I don't think any of our "old favorites" have any hope of being brought back. I think this is a good part of why there's things like what Nissan's been doing with the GTR, a factory refresh of an original chassis. Too many hurdles to build a NOS GTR, have to refresh an existing vin. The kit car community jumps through some very small hoops to get their cars legitimized, and I think the few hoops they have revolve around the car not being sold as a car, but as a kit and home built.
